The Business Development Geoscientist (BDG) will generate revenue from service and software sales within Norway from a defined account list.
You will follow a defined sales strategy to win new business with short sales cycles and execute defined growth strategies to harvest existing customers and onboard new clients.
A key component of the role is understanding Geoteric software and leveraging a technical background to convey the value to customers.
Success in this role will involve increasing the sales pipeline within the territory on a quarterly basis and increasing Geoteric’s software footprint in existing accounts. An enthusiastic, hungry and driven person with excellent social skills is essential.
Manage accounts to deliver quarterly targeted revenue.
Maintain and update the CRM system with sales activities.
Prepare software and services proposals and quotes, deliver to the client and negotiate to close.
Articulate the differentiated value proposition and consultatively adapt to clients’ requirements based on their current subsurface challenges.
Initiate, manage and support evaluations to drive usage of Geoteric in existing accounts.
Increase Geoteric’s market penetration in assigned accounts, develop and nurture key relationships.
Increase awareness within existing accounts, achieve senior level exposure and buy-in to create a collaborative relationship.
Qualifications & Experience
Educated to degree level in a Geosciences or related Earth Sciences discipline.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a technical sales role in seismic interpretation
A strong technical background and genuine interest in software.
An enthusiastic and engaging personality is required.
Exceptional communication and influencing skills as well as a natural curiosity and listening skills
Self-starter can demonstrate independent thought process to drive business development.
Ambitious, target driven profile, with a hunger to succeed.
Experience working in Norway would be beneficial but not essential
Demonstrative consultative selling through methods such as Miller Heiman would be beneficial but not essential
Reporting and Relationships
The Business Development Geoscientist reports into the BDM – EAME and works closely with the Geosciences and Sales teams.
Location & Travel
The role is based in the Geoteric London office. Extensive international travel will be required.
