The Sales Account Manager (SAM) is a sales position with responsibility for driving growth in North American (NAM) region at a pivotal time for Geoteric. The primary focus of the SAM is to build sales opportunities with new customers in the region to increase Geoteric’s market share. The SAM requires an extensive network throughout the NAM market and must be able to communicate the Geoteric differentiated value proposition to technical experts and decision makers. An enthusiasm and capability for engaging directly and consultatively with a wide range of customers to provide innovative solutions offered by Geoteric is essential to deliver success in this role.

Principal Activities

  • Manage accounts to deliver quarterly and annual targets.
  • Maintain and update the CRM system with sales activities.
  • Prepare software and services proposals and quotes, deliver to the client and negotiate to close.
  • Work closely with Development team, writing upfront tests, feeding back quickly.
  • Articulate the differentiated value proposition and adapt to clients’ needs through value-based selling.
  • Expand Geoteric’s relationships and position with existing customers.
  • Develop growth strategies for targeted accounts, implement detailed account plans and identify key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to degree level in a Geosciences or related Earth Sciences discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in selling geoscience software applications to E&P companies of all sizes.
  • Recent experience of working in the NAM region, with a strong industry network.
  • Excellent customer engagement skills, particularly an ability to establish new customer relationships, with executive levels as well as technical experts.
  • Demonstrable success in generating new business opportunities and growing existing accounts.
  • Experience in developing a strategic sales process to deliver significant growth in targeted accounts.
  • Highly motivated and innovative individual.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently.

Reporting and Relationships

The BDM reports into the VP Global Sales and works closely with the Americas sales and geoscience team

Travel

The position is based in Houston with frequent domestic and opportunity for international travel.
